I'm an over-enthusiastic, cynical, elitist, open-minded apologist who is a compulsive writer and guitar/music geek. I watch more anime than is healthy nor socially acceptable and have maintained(?) my blog, mono no aware, since December 2008 (my
old blog is long since mothballed but I've kept the posts up for nostalgic reasons).
I'm a loyal admirer of all things weirder, darker and more sophisticated than the norm...which is hard to explain when there isn't a definite definition for it. Somewhere between iyashikei, seinen/josei and muzukashii-kei I guess.
That said, I'm a shameless Type-Moon and Macross fanboy but my interests extend way into the more general realm of a fascination with contemporary Japanese culture, music and literature.
